Liberty Hall
Liberty Hall is a historic house museum located in Union, NJ that tells the story of the life and legacy of the Kean family. I had the opportunity to work there as the May Kean Raynolds Fellow for 2025. During my time, I advanced the research and dating of their costume collection, which included pieced from Charles Worth, Jeanne Paquin, and Madame Laferrière. Some of these objects were utilized in exhibitions and talks, which I mounted. I also assisted in the development of their cataloging system to ensure each object had its own catalog entry with the correct provenance, location in the house, condition report, and object number. In addition to the costume collection, I worked with various other objects in the house including glassware, ceramics, dolls, and silver. As part of my fellowship I wrote blog posts to engage the public with the research I conducted. In August of 2026 I will also be giving a talk about my research on the costume collection, focusing on the forgotten female dressmakers favored by the Kean women.
